Bobbee - Lloyd of the Flies

For my Animation Business module in my final year at university, I decided to emulate the style of Aardman and created a character for their new CGI-animated show, Lloyd of the Flies, a series based on the life of insects. I decided to base the character on one of my own original characters called Bobbee, a bumblebee on the autism spectrum, who struggles with loud noises and social interactions but wants to make friends with his peers. He is supposed to be a self-portrait as well as a character that young children with autism can look up to and encourage inclusion of people of all disorders into social groups. I created a character sheet, a 2D turn-around, and a 3D model I created in Autodesk Maya. I also decided to create a background design for Bobbee's home, choosing it to be a hole in the wall since Bobbee is supposed to be a blue carpenter bee.
